Capturing Life's Most Intimate Moments

Welcome to Aly Dawn Productions, where I believe in the power of intimate, heartfelt storytelling through photography. I’m Alicia, a documentary-style photographer based in Barcelona, originally from the South of France. I specialize in documenting the profound and intimate moments of pregnancy, birth, motherhood, and elopements. These chapters of life are filled with raw emotions and beautiful details that deserve to be preserved forever. My work is focused on creating timeless images that tell your story with authenticity and grace.

Photographing moments is not just about creating beautiful pictures; it's about celebrating the journey of life. Pregnancy is a time of anticipation and wonder, Birth is a miraculous event full of intense emotions, and Motherhood is a journey of unconditional love and connection. Elopements, with their intimate and personal nature, capture the essence of a couple's love story in a pure and authentic way.

These moments are fleeting and irreplaceable. They mark significant transitions in life that shape who we are. By capturing these experiences, I aim to give you a visual narrative that you and your loved ones can cherish forever. My goal is to create a tangible legacy that can be passed down through generations, reminding you of the love and strength that define your story.

My approach to photography is personal and unobtrusive. I strive to create a comfortable environment where you can be yourself, allowing me to capture genuine moments as they unfold. I am dedicated to documenting your journey with sensitivity and care.

Let’s work together to create a visual narrative that captures the essence of your life’s most intimate moments. Explore my portfolio to see how I’ve helped other families preserve their stories, and get in touch to discuss how we can collaborate to tell yours. Your story is my inspiration.

01. Connect

Let's meet, let's talk, let's connect. I want to get to know you & your story. Through the booking link, you can schedule a time to meet! I'm always down for coffee but I know we all have busy schedules, so we can also share a coffee over a video call if easier.

02. THE PHOTOSHOOT

I'm super easy going! I'm here to do the work, take care of the angles and lighting, you just have to show up as yourself! Don't worry if you feel intimated by the camera, I've definitely been there. So I will do everything to make you feel comfortable, give you space and time.

FAQ

I think I'd like to book a session. What now?

Book your introductory session and let's get started! During our meeting, we will discuss the details of the shoot, get to know each other a bit better, and answer any questions you may have. After our introduction, I'll provide you with a private link where you can easily book your session at a time that's convenient for you. I'm committed to making the booking process as smooth and stress-free as possible, so you can focus on enjoying your shoot and creating lasting memories.

I don’t feel very confident in front of the camera, is that ok?

Absolutely! It's completely normal to feel a bit self-conscious or camera-shy, especially if you're not used to being in front of the lens. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and at ease during our shoot.

It's also helpful to keep in mind that the best images often come from genuine and relaxed moments, so try to relax and enjoy the experience. I'll work with you to create a comfortable and fun atmosphere that allows your true personality and beauty to shine through.

If you have any concerns or specific preferences, please don't hesitate to discuss them with me. Together, we can create a photography session that reflects your unique style and captures your authentic self.

When is the best time to have a motherhood session?

The best time to have a motherhood session depends on what you want to capture. If you're interested in a newborn session, it's best to schedule it within the first three weeks after your baby is born. During this time, your baby is still sleepy and more likely to be comfortable during the shoot. We can capture those precious early moments with your baby, including those sweet sleeping poses and intimate moments between you and your little one.

If you're interested in a motherhood session with an older child or children, there's no specific window of time that's best. We can work together to schedule the session at a time that works for you and your family, and captures the moments you want to remember.

Ultimately, the best time to schedule a motherhood session is when you feel ready and excited to capture those special moments with your family.

We want to include our dog/cat, is that okay?

Absolutely! Pets are cherished members of the family! Just let me know in advance so we can plan accordingly and ensure a fun and comfortable experience for everyone involved. Feel free to bring your dog's favorite toys or treats to help make the session even more enjoyable.

I never thought of photographing my birth, what should I expect?

Birth photography is becoming more popular as a way to capture one of the most significant moments in a family's life. It's an incredibly emotional and powerful experience, and having professional photographs can help you remember and cherish those moments forever.

Many families choose to have a birth photographer present to document the labor, delivery, and the first moments of their baby's life. These photos can include intimate moments between you and your partner, family members, and the medical team, as well as your baby's first breaths, first cries, and first cuddles.

Of course, birth photography is a very personal decision, and not everyone feels comfortable having a photographer present during such an intimate moment. It's important to consider your comfort level and preferences when deciding whether birth photography is right for you. If you have any questions or concerns about birth photography, I'm always happy to chat and provide more information.

What is an Introductory Session?

An introductory session is an opportunity for the me and you to meet in person or virtually and discuss the details of the photoshoot. In addition to discussing the logistics of the photoshoot, I want to take the time to get to know you on a personal level, ask about your journey, your interests, and your expectations for the photos. Overall, an introductory session for a shoot is a crucial first step in creating a positive and comfortable experience for us all. It allows everyone involved to establish a connection, share their ideas and preferences, and create a plan that will result in beautiful, meaningful, and memorable photos.

When is the best time to have a pregnancy session?

My advice is to schedule a Pregnancy Session between 30 and 36 weeks of pregnancy. During this time, your baby bump will be prominently visible. This window also allows me to capture a range of poses and settings that showcase your growing belly and natural beauty. Of course, every pregnancy is different, so we can discuss your specific needs and preferences during our consultation to determine the best time for your session.

When will we receive the pictures?

Editing will take approximately 2 weeks after the session.

Do you release RAW, unedited photos?

No, I do not release RAW files. Personal style is such a huge part of being the photographer that I am. I feel that unedited photos do not reflect who I am and therefore, I do not release them.
